Hospitality Intelligence Matters

Gender parity for women continues to fluctuate and it is not surprising with the current climate around inclusion.

Women are equally qualified technically and data suggest that companies with more women in senior positions often see better business outcomes, including higher profits, stronger workplace culture and improved decision-making.

But all business is not done in the boardroom or at work meetings.

Women can increase their opportunity to get to the table through building strong relationships during social gatherings, increasing the ability to create trust and build confidence in one’s ability with decision makers.

Being able to host or secure invitations to the dining table shows your commitment and competence on how to carry conversations, think on your feet and make connections to bring in business.

The art of authentic and intentional communication has dwindled with the digital age.

But most senior executives still place personal experiences and face to face interactions at the top of their preferred way of doing business.

Executives want to look you in your eyes, klink a glass of wine or share a meal with you to understand if you can represent them or the company with poise and cachet.

You won’t get very far without this knowledge and many times all of this is unspoken. Very much like meeting etiquette.

So make sure you are ready. If you wonder why you don’t get invited socializing, check how you are showing up in moments that matter.

The art of social etiquette is still extremely relevant and a necessity to reach the C-Suite.
